When people speak about globalization, it is within the framework of physical sovereign nations. Men of great power and wealth have sought to bring this into existence, but not for the grand and noble purposes that they espouse. I am not saying that countries should not have some sort of economic cooperation among themselves; but countries should greatly measure their losses of sovereignty of such compromising endeavors, which oftentimes is only for the rich and powerful who care less about your identity of security and sovereignty and who care more about their power, control, and financial profit.

The idea of globalizing is not new. We can read about at least four physical world empires that have come and gone. These are the Babylonian, Medes and Persians, Greek, and Roman. These were empires in historical succession. Regardless of how a world empire comes into existence whether by wars or by subtle propaganda, each one of these kingdoms shows us it does not work, that is, it does not have the seeds of endurance and lacks the wisdom of efficacy to reach the goal of complete globalized constitutional establishment.

Moreover, the failures of these, and the purposes of God are magnified in His establishment of a spiritual kingdom far greater and more powerful than any physical nation or global government.

Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting, that I might not be delivered up to the Jews; but as it is, My kingdom is not of this realm." John 18:36 NASB

The realm of the kingdom of God is the substance of spiritual or heavenly ingredients. It is not physical or carnal. Though it is invisible to the physical eye, it is real in the eyes of the mind or heart of its citizens. There is no physical warfare of this kingdom, as Jesus mentioned before He died. The only weapons of the warfare of the kingdom of God are spiritual or heavenly.

Paul wrote, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ," 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NASB

If the mind of a person, in accordance with the revealed will of God, can be conquered and won into subjection to God by the person's own individual inward struggles and battles in this life, then it creates a citizen and patriot of a kingdom more powerful than any physical nation. This kingdom cannot be destroyed. Regarding this spiritual kingdom in the physical world, there are no physical borders to define its territory, but it covers the whole physical world. (Mark 16:15-16; Matthew 28:19-20). As far as the inner person is concerned, there is no male or female. In this kingdom, there is no distinction of the color of skin, the stature of the person, the language a person speaks, or the degree of wealth or affluence a person has. (Galatians 3:28). Any heritage a citizen brings is superseded by the promises of inheritance from God. (Philippians 3:7-14).

This kingdom of its power and greatness was foretold in the book of Daniel, chapter two, when Daniel interpreted the dream of Nebuchadnezzar's great statue.

Nebuchadnezzar was the great Babylonian king who had conquered Jerusalem and carried many of the peoples there into captivity and brought them to Babylon. Among the captives was Daniel. Daniel was a man of God who rose to importance as a statesman in Babylon.

While on his bed, king Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that troubled and worried him to know what it meant.

Nebuchadnezzar sought for his wise men to interpret the dream, but they were also to tell what the dream was, then interpret it. His wise men could not, for this kind of power is not innate in man. The power to reveal mysteries like this belongs only with God.

Nebuchadnezzar decided to destroy the wise men of Babylon, which would have included Daniel. When Daniel found out what the king was about to do to the wise men, he requested, with his friends, help from God. God revealed the mystery to Daniel in a dream.

Daniel went to the king to reveal the dream and its interpretation.

Daniel told the king that the king's dream was about something to take place in the future. This future time begins with Nebuchadnezzar.

King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream of a great statue "of extraordinary splendor" made of different materials from head to toe. The materials of the statue were a head of gold, its breast and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze, and its legs of iron with its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. In this dream a stone cut out of a mountain, without physical hands, crushed and put an end to the statue. The stone became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

After revealing Nebuchadnezzar's dream, Daniel gave the interpretation of the dream.

The head of gold represented king Nebuchadnezzar and his Babylonian kingdom, a world empire.

After Nebuchadnezzar, the breast and arms of silver representing the Medes and Persians become the next world empire.

After the Medes and Persians the belly and thighs of bronze represent the Greek (Alexander the great) world empire.

One of the most distinguishing marks of the book of Daniel is that these first three world kingdoms are mentioned in Daniel. See book of Daniel 2:37-38; 5:28-31: 8:21; 10:20

The world empire after the Greeks was the Roman empire. It is during this time of the Roman empire that the kingdom of God would be set up.

In the book of Daniel we read, "And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever. "Inasmuch as you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will take place in the future; so the dream is true, and its interpretation is trustworthy." Daniel 2:44-45 NASB

This is not fiction. It is history foretold by God and the history of its fulfillment told by secular and biblical writings.

What these kingdoms represented and promised to mankind and humanity was crushed and brought to an end with the kingdom of God, without shooting one arrow or the thrusting of a physical sword. Any people in history that claimed to be of the kingdom of God or church of God, after Acts 2, and yet used physical force to gain converts, were not acting with the authority of Jesus Christ the king; some indeed could simply be apostates of the kingdom or church, that is, "ecclesia" of God.

Though the name "Roman" is not mentioned by Daniel, sufficient information is provided by Daniel leading up to this time. The Roman empire was an empire of vast domain and was in succession of the Greek empire. I am convinced this is why so many where looking for the Christ when Jesus came on the scene.

The story of Jesus Christ on earth begins during the Roman empire.

When Jesus Christ died and rose from the grave, he afterwards ascended into heaven, sat on His throne and is reigning now as King over His kingdom. Read Acts 1 and 2.

This kingdom was also mentioned by Isaiah the prophet.

Isaiah wrote, "Now it will come about that in the last days, the mountain of the house of the Lord will be established as the chief of the mountains, and will be raised above the hills; and all the nations will stream to it. And many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; that He may teach us concerning His ways, and that we may walk in His paths." For the law will go forth from Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And He will judge between the nations, and will render decisions for many peoples; and they will hammer their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, and never again will they learn war." Isaiah 2:2-4 NASB

What you read here in Isaiah is what we wrote about previously in this article.

1. "The mountain of the house of the Lord . . . chief of the mountains." The same mountain in Daniel that crushed and put an end to those world empires without firing a physical shot.

2. "All the nations will stream to it." All the nations cover the whole world, a spiritual not physical globalization.

3. "That He may teach us concerning His ways," It began in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost. (Acts 2) The people of the kingdom of God learned the ways of Christ that the real power lays in God and in the gospel, the good news. Paul said, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16 NASB).

4. "And they will hammer their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks." No longer would the people of God as a spiritual "nation" or "kingdom" seek physical weapons of war against mankind for the purposes of God. These are of no use in converting the soul of man to a greater purpose in life and living. Though physical nations would still exist and would continue to operate nationally with physical weapons of force (Romans 13:1-4), a child of God would also function as a member of the spiritual collective body of Christ and individual disciple. So in effect the individual Christian would have dual citizenship, one on earth (physical nation) and one in heaven (spiritual kingdom). Isaiah shows that as the Jews or Hebrew people of God of the Old Testament would fight wars to establish their existence and territory, no longer would this be done. The people of God today, that is Christians of the New Testament, will not bear any physical weapons of war for the purpose of forcing a spiritual conversion of anyone to Christ. The word of God is the Christian's sword of the Spirit. (Ephesians 6:17). With this the kingdom of God would expand.

In Conclusion

In the Bible we read of a separation of church and state. Jesus said, "Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God the things that are God's." Matthew 22:21 NASB. Those in any physical nation or state that are in opposition to God will eventually be subjected to God whether they like it or not. This will be done by God without any Christian applying physical violence against those who disbelieve. God is the final judge.

Since the beginning of time the word of God, the Bible, has shown us the great and mighty power of God. His character and disposition to truth, justice, mercy, love, kindness and severity cannot be reproached by men, though they recklessly attempt to. God binds his words together by the thread of truth and unshakable promises. The firmness and confidence of His word is as an impenetrable and unmovable rock. He gives to those of His a hope that is the anchor of the soul and a helmet of salvation. The Christian lives as an individual, a member of the body of Christ, a citizen of Christ's kingdom. Jesus Christ sits on His throne having been given all authority in heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18). Though the Christian lives in the world, he is not of the world. He has renounced sin in all its forms and stands foursquare for the cause of Christ and His righteousness, always and for eternity.
